Kariapatti is a panchayat town in Virudhunagar district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.

As of 2001 India census[1], Kariapatti had a population of 13,974. Males constitute 50% of the population and females 50%. Kariapatti has an average literacy rate of 69%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 76%, and female literacy is 63%. In Kariapatti, 13% of the population is under 6 years of age.It has one engineering college near by it, and a big industry TVS[citation needed] is functioning here.
