Karen Koehler (born January 25, 1973) is an American writer of horror fiction, best known for Slayer, a series of gothic vampire novels featuring the vampire-slaying character Alek Knight. The novels in the series include Slayer 2002, Slayer: Black Miracles 2003, and Slayer: Stigmata 2004. Her novels often center on religious affairs and conspiracies. She is also the author of a number of science fiction and mystery novels.

She was born in Garfield, New Jersey, The United States of America and as of 2000 lives in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. She is a supporter of Wicca religion and practices.
