Karen Hensel (born November 1, 1948) is an American actress. Karen plays the recurring role of Doris Collins in soap opera The Young and the Restless.

She has numerous television credits which include guest starring in prime time television, feature films and several stage productions. When she is not acting, she is the Director of Conservatories at South Coast Repertory. She also teaches classical theater at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts.

Hensel's father was in Foreign service, which resulted in her constant traveling across the globe. At 12, her family relocated to Libya, and then to Ethiopia, France, Australia and the Philippines before settling back in California. Karen attended The American College in Paris, UC Santa Barbara and The American Academy of Dramatic Arts where she majored in Theater Arts.

Hensel has also guest starred in Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Murder, She Wrote, Knots Landing, Strong Medicine, The Practice, Judging Amy, Fraiser and The Magnificent Seven television series. She also appeared in feature films Chained Heat, Faith and Psycho III.
