Karbeas

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Karbeas was the leader of the Paulicians who in 856 took refuge with the Arabs in the territory around Tephrike and joined forces with Amr ibn Ubayd Allah, emir of Melitene (reigned 835-863). Karbeas was killed in 863 in Michael III's campaign against the Paulicians, and was possibly with Amr at Malakopia at the time.
