Karamoh Kabba

Karamoh Kabba (born in 1965 in Koidu Town, Kono District, Sierra Leone) is a Sierra Leonean author, writer, novelist and journalist. He has written several historic account about the Sierra Leone civil war, including the seminal book, A Mother’s Saga, An Account of the Rebel War in Sierra Leone, Lion Mountain, A Political Drama of Wish over Wisdom. He has published several verses of poems on the highly acclaimed Web site, Sierra Leone Web.

[edit] Early life and education

An ethnic Mandingo, Karamoh Kabba was born raised in the diamond-rich mining town of Koidu Town, Kono District in the Eastern Province of Sierra Leone. His parents are Alhaji Kemoh Kabba and Madam Issata Kabba, both came from the Mandingo ethnic group. He attended the Kono District Education Council (K.D.E.C.) primary school in Koidu Town and the Government Secondary School for Boys (Boys School) in Magburaka in Tonkolili District. His diplomas include the GCE Ordinary and Advance Levels. In 1991, he traveled to the United States where he took some courses at the Montgomery College in Maryland. Kabba is the founder, president and chief executieve officer of Sierra Leone Youth Lending Hand, Inc. (SLYLH), a nonprofit organization devoted to assisting the youth of Sierra Leone educationally and medically.
