Karambakkam is a census town in Thiruvallur district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.

As of 2001 India census[1], Karambakkam had a population of 14,591. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Karambakkam has an average literacy rate of 73%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 78%, and female literacy is 68%. In Karambakkam, 11% of the population is under 6 years of age.
