Karabulak, Republic of Ingushetia

Karabulak (Russian: Карабулак) is a town in the Republic of Ingushetia, Russia. It is located at the Sunzha River (a tributary of the Terek), some 20 km north of the republics capital, Magas. Population: 34,011 (2006 est.); 31,279 (2002 Census); 9,400 (1989 Census).
The cossack stanitsa Karabulakskaya was founded in the 1800s. Town status was granted in 1995.
In the 1990s the towns population more than tripled, because of an influx of refugees from the wartorn neighbouring republic of Chechnya.
A chemical factory is located in Karabulak.
