The Kara Darya[1] or Qaradaryo (Russian: Kapaдарья) is a river in Central Asia, flowing through the Fergana Valley, where it is used for irrigation. In the Fergana Valley its confluence with the Naryn River (at 40.9° N 71.75° ECoordinates: 40.9° N 71.75° E) forms the Syr Darya. There are several dams on the river.

[edit] Notes

  1. ^ Darya means "river", so Kara Darya River is a tautology.
