The source of this photo is unknown but it is apparently from Switzerland (where Karl Jaspers lived) sometime before his death in 1969. It is believed this image was published not in conformity with the U.S. copyright formalities, which would make it PD in the U.S., however this is unknown and it is legally safer to invoke fair use.
