Kanuma (鹿沼市 Kanuma-shi?) is a city located in Tochigi, Japan.
As of 2008, the city has an estimated population of 103,373 and the density of 211 persons per km². The total area is 490.62 km². The English translation of Kanuma is "Deer Swamp" and the town is mostly known for being along the way when traveling between Tokyo and Nikkō.
The city was founded on October 10, 1948.
