Kanti Shah is a c-grade filmmaker known for his horror cum softcore movies.^{[citation needed]} His work is also referred to as A-grade of the c-grade category.^{[citation needed]} His cast and crew usually comprises Shakti Kapoor, Sapna, Razak Khan, Vinod Tripathi and Anil Nagrath.^{[citation needed]} Music in his films is usually composed by Sawan Kumar Sawan.^{[citation needed]} Kanti Shah has made lot of movies written by Bashir Babbar.^{[citation needed]} He currently distributes his films under the banner of Pali Films and shooting for them is usually done at Essel studios situated at Trombay.^{[citation needed]} Kanti Shah's Gunda starring Mithun Chakraborty has received a cult status in the low budget film industry.^{[citation needed]}
