The 36th Loutzenhiser Awards, honoring the best in film for 2001, were given on 28 January 2002.
Peter Jackson's first part of the "The Lord of the Rings trilogy", The Fellowship of the Ring won two awards: Best Film and Director. Denzel Washington won the Best Actor award for his work in Training Day (he would win the Academy Award for Best Actor for the same role).
