Kanju is a beautiful village situated on the bank of the River Swat in the North-West Frontier Province of Pakistan.

It is two kilometres from Mingora, the main city of Swat District and about four kilometres from Saidu Sharif, the District Headquarters,on the bank of river swat.

The people of Swat belong to the Yousafzai tribe of Pukhtoons Pashtuns. The population is about 15000.

[edit] Agriculture

The major source of earning is agriculture and fruit farming. A considerable number of people own small and large businesses in various places of the N-W.F Province.

[edit] Tourist Attractions

It has some tourist attractions. The view of River Swat from Ayub Bridge in Kanju is magnificent. Saidu Sharif Airport is just a mile away from Kanju. Its a small airport mainly used for domestic flights. Though Kanju is expanding rapidly but still it has a touch of country life.

[edit] Residential Scheme

Kanju Township is a residential scheme undertaken by the SDDA. It is one of the beautiful residential schemes of the country primarily because of its location with scenic locals around it.

There is a government High School for boys, a middle school for girls and several primary school both for boys and girls. There are a number of public and private schools and colleges, prominent among them are GHS Kanju, GMS for Girls, Al-Razi Public School and College,Hira School and College, Iqra School and College, Shah Public School and College etc.
