Kangaroo Island (Tasmania)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Kangaroo Island is an island, with an area of 125 ha, in south-eastern Australia. It is part of the Petrel Island Group, lying in Bass Strait close to Robbins Island in north-west Tasmania. It has been used for grazing cattle and is surrounded by extensive mudflats.
[edit] Fauna
Pied Oystercatchers breed on the island, which is also home to the Tasmanian Pademelon. The island and its mudflats are important for feeding and roosting waders.[1]
