Kaneville Township is located on the western edge of Kane County, Illinois at 41.855143 N, 88.536571 W. It is a 6 mile square, of which 35.111155 square miles are land and 0.024278 are water. Its population in the 2000 Census was 1,292. It has 461 housing units.[3].

Elburn is located on the eastern edge of the township and the township is divided roughly into northern and southern halves by Interstate 88.
