Kandyla or Kandila (Greek: Κανδήλα), also with an i accented is a Greek town located west of Agrinio and northwest of Messolongi in the western part of the Etoloakarnania prefecture. Kandyla serves as the seat of the municipality of Alyzia. Kandyla had a 2001 population of 1,266, it is ranked second in population in the municipality.

Kandyla are connected with roads linking Vonitsa and Astakos and Mytikas and Katouna. The Acarnanian Mountains lies to the north. Its residents are based in agriculture and includes groves and citrus in which is dominant and are almost surrounded by them, a few pine trees are in the area. Its length is approximately 1 km length from north to south and ranges from 200 m to 300 m wide from east to west.
In the ancient times, Alyzia in area reacherd the nearby town of Mytikas by the island of Kalamos. Kandyla features quiet holidays for tourists with the sea located three kilometres from the town. Its ruins is 1 km south.
After World War II and the Greek Civil War, the population steadily declined as residents moved to larger towns and cities and the richest countries in the world.
Electricity and automobiles arrived in the 1960s, it was linked with pavement in the late-20th century, television arrived in the 1980s. Internet and computers arrived in the late-1990s.

Kandyla has a school, a lyceum (middle school), a gymnasium (secondary school) a few churches and the central square (plateia), its nearest and banks are in Messolongi.

Together with the history of Alyzia, it published a book from the experts of the village V. Liagko with the title Enas mikros topos, mia megali history (Ένας μικρός τόπος, μια μεγάλη ιστορία = One Small Place, One Huge History).
