KANR (92.7 FM) is a radio station broadcasting a Spanish format in Wichita, Kansas. The station is licensed to Belle Plaine, Kansas.
[edit] History
KANR first signed on as an All-News station, In 2000, it was briefly the home to Smooth Jazz KWSJ from its previous home on the dial at 105.3 (Now Hot AC KFBZ). The station flipped to Rhythmic Top 40 as "Fly 92.7" to compete against crosstown Rhythmic KDGS "Power 93.9" Former KDGS personality Kidd Chris was also an air personality on KANR (Now at WYSP in Philadelphia), A year later the station flipped to Alternative. Despite the signal's fair coverage over Wichita, KANR had a large following of listeners with its Alternative format. The station changed format in September 2006 to its current Spanish format as "Fiesta 92.7" KANR listeners were upset over the format change and no other station in Wichita has picked up the Alternative format.
KANR's main competitor is Spanish KYQQ "Radio Lobo 106.5"
