Kamiya-cho Shareo

Kamiya-cho Chareo is an underground city located in central Hiroshima. It is the key underground network connecting public transport services around the Kamiya-cho area. There are two stations of the Astram Line and three stations of the Hiroden Main Line & Ujina Line. This underground network is the only way to connect those five stations. At the center of Kamiya-cho Chareo, there is a transportation and tourist information center.

"Kamiya-cho Chareo" is located underground around the Kamiya-cho intersection between Rijo-dori (avenue) and Aioi-dori (street). Astram Line's train runs under the Kamiya-cho Chareo aroung the Rijo-dori across the Aioi-dori. Hiroden Main Line & Ujina Line's streetcar runs on the Aioi-dori and Rijo-dori.

"Kamiya-cho Shareo" was opened in 2001 as the public underground network with shopping area by Hiroshima city and Hiroshima Prefecture. The area is operated by Hiroshima Chikagaikaihatsu which was established by city, prefecture, financial institutions and private enterprises. On the corner of the Kamiya-cho intersection, there was a traffic control tower. And around the intersection, there were pedestrian crossings on the streets.
