Kamienna Góra [kaˈmjɛnna ˈgura] (German: Landeshut) is a town in south-western Poland with 21,440 inhabitants (2006).
Kamienna Góra is situated in Lower Silesian Voivodeship (from 1975–1998 it was in the former Jelenia Góra Voivodeship). It lies approximately 78 kilometres (48 mi) south-west of the regional capital Wrocław. It is the seat of Kamienna Góra County, and also of the rural district called Gmina Kamienna Góra, although it is not part of the territory of the latter (the town forms a separate urban gmina).
The region passed to Poland from Germany in 1945 following decisions approved at the Potsdam Conference at the end of World War II. For more information about the general history of the region, see Silesia.
