Kamares (Greek: Modern: Καμάρες, Ancient/Katharevousa -rai or -re), older forms Kamarai and Kamare is a municipality in the east-northeastern part of the Achaea prefecture, Greece. Kamares was an independent commune until 1994 when it became the municipality of Erineos. Kamares serves the seat of the municipality of Erineos. The village is connected by the old road of GR-8 linking Patras and Corinth along with Aigio while the superhighway is to the north. Kamares is also linked with the road linking to Seliana, the only road linking through the Panachaicus. It is located about 10 km W of Aigio, about 40 km NW of Pteri, about 30 km E of Patras from the old road and about 36 km from the superhighwway via the Longos interchange to the east which its nearest interchange and is also accessed to Longos Beach. Kamares is slightly west of the 22nd parallel or 22° east line. The provincial boundary with Patras and Aigialia is to the east.

It sits on a plain which is connected with west of Aigio. The hills and the mountains lie to the west and hills to the south. Farms lie to the central part and groves to the northern part and the southern part along with mixed farming. The forests that are filled with probably willow trees lie to the east and pine trees to the west and to the northwest with several small mountaintops.

Kamares has campgrounds and beaches which is located to the north and the northeast in Akoli.
The new road runs in the north-central part and through the forests. It was constructed in the mid 20th century when a 100 m long overpass was under construction and four curves with a 4 m rail underpass at the third curve. It was opened a few years later with an interchange to the east.

The panorama includes the hills and the mountains to the south and the west along with tall Erymanthos to the WSW and the Panachaiko to the west along with another mountain near Omplos.

Kamares has a school, a lyceum, a church, banks, a post office, a train station which is located to the west 20 m above the old highway and a square (plateia) in the central part of the city.
