Kamalganj is located at 24.3667° N 91.8667° E . It has 37112 units of house hold and total area 485.26 km².

As of 1991 Bangladesh census^[1], Kamalganj has a population of 191672. Males constitute are 50.98% of the population, and females 49.02%. This Upazila's eighteen up population is 102877. Kamalganj has an average literacy rate of 28.6% (7+ years), and the national average of 32.4% literate. ^[2]
