Kamalamai

Kamlamai (सिन्धुलीमाडी) Municipality is in the Sindhuli District Jankpur zoon of central south Nepal, This city is in the Sindhuli Valley, Sindhuli a Valley (Inner Tarai) of Central south Nepal. The historic symbol of the Valley, Sindhuli Gadhi fort, is at the peak of a hill of the Mahabharata range. The city is in the plane valley made by the Kamla River.
Sindhuli is very beautiful because this valley is crossed by Sunkoshi Roshi, and Kamla river place by place so the narrow falls of the Valley are famous, also Sindhuli ever green and full of fruit and vegetables irrigated by the water of Kamla and other rivers.

The occupation of the Kuti Pass in about 1756 stopped the valley's trade with Tibet. Finally, King Prithvi Narayan Shah entered the valley. After the victory of Kirtipur. King Jaya Prakash Malla of Kathmandu sought help from the British and so the East India Company sent a contingent of soldiers under Captain Kinloch in 1767. The British force was defeated at Sindhuli by King Prithvi Narayan Shah's army. The place where the army of the British Empire was defeated has widely gained popularity in the past and the present. This defeat of the British completely shattered the hopes of King Jaya Prakash Malla. The capture of Kathmandu (September 25. 1768) was dramatic.
[edit] Getting to Sindhuli
Getting to Sindhuli is easy now that the B.P koirala Highway (under construction) connects Bardibas to Dhulikhel and same highway cross Sindhuli in the Middle, Up to Sindhuli the road is very easy. This road connects Sindhuli with other parts of the country and from Dhulikehl also it will reach soon. Also an old road to connect Dharan through Iner Tarai is just going to reopen for the easier movement of the Inner Tarai Vallys of Sindhuli and Udyapur of Western Region to Dharan a meagre city of Eastern Nepal.
[edit] Transportation and communication
Local transportation consists of minibuses and minivans which have been regulated by the local people in the headquarther while most of the parts of Sindhuli are inaccessible to vehicles. The new Banepa-Bardibas Highway is under construction which is supposeed to bring a dramatic transformation in transportation in Sindhuli. Long-route buses run under the local authority in the headquarter which has bus routes to cities like Kathmandu, Janakpur and Biratnagar. The Internet has been introduced recently in the headquarter by some private internet providers. The internet is rarely used by the common people. Moreover, the price is too high to be afforded by the public.
