Kamal Xocendi (Kamaleddin Masud Xocendi (Khojandi)) Also, KAMAL-E KHOJANDI was a great Tajik Sufi and Persian ghazal poet of eighth century hijri. He was born in historical city of Khojand capital of Sughd province, in Tajikistan (a former republic of Soviet Union, now a member state of CIS). He lived in Tabriz and died in 1400 A.D. (807 hijri).
He is counted among great romantic poets of the 14th century like, Amir Khosrow Dehlavi, Khwaju Kermani and Hafez. He was also a contemporary of Hafez. Another Persian writer, novelist and short story writer Sadegh Hedayat and his family trace their ancestery to Kamal Khojandi[1].
His tomb is located in 2-Kamal Tomb, Beylankuh street, Abbasi street, Tabriz, Iran beside the tomb of Kamaleddin Behzad. There is also a statue of Kamal.
