Kamal Al-Yahya

Dr.Kamal M. Al-Yahya is the current (since September 2007- nowadays) President, CEO of Petron Corporation, the largest oil refiner in the Philippines. He also concurrently serve as a Director in the Petron board.

Dr.Al-Yahya graduated form Qatif High School, then he went to London to take medical training. After being there for 2 years his father, Mansoor Al-Yahya past away, and so had to return to Saudi Arabia. Al-Yahya received his bachelor degree in physics from KFUPM in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, followed by a masters degree in Geo-Science Engineering from UC Berkeley on the expense of Saudi Aramco education program. Also on the expense of Saudi Aramco education program Al-Yahya received his masters and his Doctorate(Ph.D) on geophysics from Stanford University.

Al-Yahya has over 25 years of work experience in Saudi Aramco, the largest oil company in the world. Before his assignment to Petron, he was the manager of Saudi Aramco’s exploration operations department responsible for seismic data acquisition, processing and imaging processes essential to oil and gas exploration. He also serves in the board of South Rub Al-Khali, a joint venture among Aramco, Shell and Total for gas production in Saudi Arabia. Prior to his last assignment, Al-Yahya held several managerial and professional positions in Saudi Aramco. He was manager of the exploration and petroleum engineering technology, exploration technical services, exploration operations and exploration application services departments as well as chief geophysicist. after holding several managerial positions, he is now the President, Chief Executive Officer and Director of Petron Corporation. He succeeded Khalid D. Al-Faddagh who served Petron since August 2003 to August 2007.
