[edit] origin of name
a mistake in the origin of the name:
Kale = Tr. fortress Megdan, original Turkish is meydan (from the Arabic meydan) = square
so fortress square, not battlefield fortress.
Hi. True, meydan in Turkish means field, square or an open area in geneal. However, in Serbian, megdan gained different meaning, a battle or battlefield, and as such remained until modern days. Just like deli in Turkish means crazy, while in Serbian it became delija, meaning a hero, brave man. PajaBG (talk) 11:55, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
