Kalyvia, Laconia

Κalyvia or Kalivia (Greek: Καλύβια) is a village in Laconia, Greece, located in the Bay of Skoutari. It is part of the municipality Gytheio. It is on the beach. Its economy relies on olives, olive oil and fishing. The town has a plateia and a cafe. It has a small population of 50. Kalyvia is nearly linked with a road encircling the Mani Peninsula from Vathia. Farmlands cover the valley areas and around the village especially forests. Mountains and hills filled with bushes, less vegetation and rocks dominate the rest of the area around Kalyvia.

Kalyvia has a small school, Kalyvia has no lyceum (middle school), the nearest is in Kotronas as well as its secondary school. Vathia has a post office and a small square (plateia).
