Kalyana Varadharaja Perumal Temple was an ancient temple that exists in Paruthiyur which is located at 31 Paruthiyur Sengalipuram, Thiruvarur District 612 604. The main Idol Adhi Varadarajar is gracing with 'Prayoga-Chakra". This chakra was sent to protect Ambarisha, a Vishnu devotee, from the curse of Duruvasa, the famous saint. Panchaloka idols of this temple are very ancient and more than 1000 years old. Kalyana Varadarajar another Vishnu is also gracing the devotees from the same Shrine.
Paruthiyur Kodanda Rama Shrine is at this temple. When you visit this temple, if one feels that the main deities are so beautiful, they only have to wait to see the Utsava Murthis whose beauty is par-excellence. Shri Kodhanda Ramar, Janaki, Lakshmana and Anjaneya are the Utsava Murthis. The shilpa of Shri Rama is as per the vivid description given by Shri Anjaneya Swami in the Sundra kandam of Valmiki Ramayanam. This temple was the life and soul of a Mahaan Paruthiyur Krishna Sastri The idols in the temple belonged to the 10th century early Chola period
