Kalumet is a Hungarian musician. His main style is progressive trance, but he also produces ambient music. He was born as Zoltán Vajda in Budapest, Hungary in 1978. Kalumet started to play music in a schoolband called Red Power in the age of 15, as a bassist. His interest turned towards psychedelic trance in 1996. In Hungary he was the first to produce progressive trance music, soon after the style was created in Scandinavia. He regularly plays in the European trance festivals and parties.
He also has several side projects under different names: Ork Monk (psy trance) Trevor McGregor (breakbeat-electro), and Rezzonance Dogs (experimental music).
He chose the artist name Kalumet (peacepipe), because he likes peace and pipes.
