Kalihati (Bengali: কালিহাতি) is an Upazila of Tangail District in the Division of Dhaka, Bangladesh.

As of 1991 Bangladesh census[1], Kalihati has a population of 354959. Males constitute are 51.55% of the population, and females 48.45%. This Upazila's eighteen up population is 177023. Kalihati has an average literacy rate of 27.5% (7+ years), and the national average of 32.4% literate. [2]

Kalihati has 12 Unions/Wards, 267 Mauzas/Mahallas, and 314 villages.
It has a historical background during the liberation war in 1971.A great child of this land named "Kader Siddiki" who later gained the great title "Bir Protik" for his contribution for the war. After the liberation war he gave 32 trucks of weapons to the government. In the liberation period he formed a group named "Kadera Bahini" with the brave bangalees. The "Kadera Bahini" was very ferocious against the pakistanis.==See also==
