Kaliganj is located at 23.9250° N 90.5667° E . It has 32588 units of house hold and total area 158.79 km².

As of 1991 Bangladesh census^[1], Kaliganj has a population of 175915. Males constitute are 51.86% of the population, and females 48.14%. This Upazila's eighteen up population is 87404. Kaliganj has an average literacy rate of 33.6% (7+ years), and the national average of 32.4% literate. ^[2]
