Kalesar National Park

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Kalesar Wildlife Sanctuary is a protected area located in eastern Haryana, India, 150 km from Chandigarh. It is a popular destination for bird-watching. It is home to the red jungle fowl among other birds. For the moment, Kalesar is not a "National Park" though there have been proposals, most prominently made by the distinguished ecologist Dr. A.J.T. Johnsingh, to combine Kalesar with the contiguous Simbalbara Wildlife Sanctuary across the Yamuna River in Sirmour District, Himachal Pradesh, and create a new National Park.
