Kalen Bruce Thornton (born May 12, 1982 in Dallas, Texas) was an American football linebacker for the Dallas Cowboys of the NFL. He played in six games in the 2004 season but was forced to retire in 2006 after missing the 2005 season because of a knee injury. Thornton graduated high school from St. Mark's School of Texas. He played college football for the University of Texas at Austin, where he was an All-Conference defensive end as well as an Academic All-Conference student-athlete.

His father Bruce Thornton also played football for the Cowboys, while his brother Kyle plays for Texas. His youngest brother Kenton, also starred for St. Mark's before doing a post-graduate year at Blair Academy, where he was prep offensive player of the year in New Jersey. He now plays for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
