Kale borroka

Kale borroka (Basque for 'Street Fighting') refers to urban riots caused by Basque nationalist young people who are integrated into the abertzale left.
Their tactics include: destroying public property (burning trash bins, burning buses, assaulting offices, smashing light poles,etc.), destroying private property (burning cars, assaulting commerces,etc.), armed and hostile aggression against police, promoting and distributing ETA propaganda, brawling in bars, etc.
During ETA's ceasefire from March 2006 to 2007, the kale borroka did not cease. On November 2006, Otegi announced to the Spanish government and PNV, that all forms of violence (mainly kale borroka) would be eliminated in exchange for immunity[citation needed].
