Kaldbaksbotnur is a village on the island of Streymoy in the Faroe Islands.

Kaldbaksbotnur is located in the bottom of Kaldbaksfjørður on the east coast of Streymoy. The village consists of only one farm. Kaldbaksbotnur and Kaldbak were connected to the road network in 1980 when the road to Tórshavn opened. The tunnel from Kaldbaksbotnur to Signabøur is now the main thoroughfare from Torshavn to the villages up north. That tunnel was opened in 1992. In the mountains above Kaldbaksbotnur is a valley called ‘Mjørkadalur’ which means ‘Fog Valley’. The Danish Navy has a base there and, on the top of the high mountains, NATO has some huge radar domes.
