Kaladan River

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Kaladan River is a river of Myanmar, located in the west of the country around the Sittwe area.

The Burmese government were working on a $500 million project with India to attempt to facilitate trade between the two nations [1]. The trade will open up not only Mizoram but India's entire North East as a hinterland for the Myanmar port of Sittwe.

Development of the river is also being negotiated with the Shwe Gas Project for economic enhancement [2]
