'Resource for High School English Teachers and Students
Theme-Based Approaches to World Literature Titles'
As a teacher of English, I recognize the problems in world literature courses today. The titles in world literature courses in today's society are from from representing the depth of literature from the world. For an independent reading project during my graduate school studies at The College of William and Mary, I did an extensive survey of world literature and designed themes and activites/lessons in order to incorporate more world literature in today's high school English classrooms.
I have listed some of the titles which I read for my world literature study. I invite other teachers and students to add their own world literature title selections and themes, along with activities/lessons.
