[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:New york blackout.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:New york blackout.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:29, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Danger Strikes Back

Wikipedia is not a news source. " Wikipedia considers the historical notability of persons and events. News coverage can be useful source material for encyclopedic topics, but not all events warrant an encyclopedia article of their own. Routine news coverage of such things as announcements, sports, and tabloid journalism are not sufficient basis for an article. Even when an event is notable, individuals involved in it may not be. Unless news coverage of an individual goes beyond the context of a single event, our coverage of that individual should be limited to the article about that event, in proportion to their importance to the overall topic. (See Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons for more details.) Timely news subjects not suitable for Wikipedia may be suitable for our sister project Wikinews."

What are the differences between the two events, ROH_Rising_Above and Danger Strikes Back? ROH is a notable event, meeting our notability requirements, whereas "Danger Strikes Back" did not meet those standards. ROH is notable because it was televised on a notable media outlet. "Danger Strikes Back," as an individual event, was not, and therefore not notable. It seems to be that other Kaiju Big Battel events which have articles have remained because of their release to video, which may have sales records which are notable -- but then again, they may not, and therefore should be reviewed for notability criteria. - CobaltBlueTony™ talk 13:48, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

nothing to add to the above really, which says is better than I would. Jimfbleak (talk) 14:31, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
