[edit] Re: Britain
Hello, did I frighten you off from the discussion at this article? -- llywrch 16:56, 28 April 2006 (UTC)
- Oh no, Ian Adamson just isn't my area of expertise. I was going to wait until the quote had been typed up before making further comment, because it seemed Mal/Setanta and I were just going around in circles based on what had been said so far. The only things I could add to the debate right now have already been said by me or someone else, so I'm holding on until there's something new to say. Don't worry, I'm still watching the page! Thanks for the concern though.
Kaid100 19:49, 28 April 2006 (UTC)
- P.S. I'm pretty sure there won't be universal consensus on what it's right to put in the article, so I think trying to convince someone that has already made up their mind is a waste of time. We would all be better to put our points forward, and then have a poll to decide the exact nature of the edit.
-
- That's my intent in pointing out that the whole "Isles of Elishah" is irrelevant to the point of the article: much like one of the incidents in WP:LAME, where somebody insisted that Charles Darwin had to mention that he born on the same day as the American Abraham Lincoln. I was hoping some of the other folks who debated with Mal/Setana might voice their agreement/disagreement with this opinion. -- llywrch 23:14, 28 April 2006 (UTC)

- Unfortunately, a couple of us have already tried the angle that it's more suited to a page on the British Isles than Britain, it didn't affect Setanta's argument. I sense you feel a bit abandoned that no-one else is jumping in to defend you.. don't be.. you don't need defending. If you read the discussion so far you will get a sense of how Setanta handles points being made to him. Maybe instead of trying to convince him, wait until a poll starts and make your points to other users. I don't think we're going to get a unanimous vote. I'll put a message on the talk page so you don't need to feel that you are on your own Kaid100 23:28, 28 April 2006 (UTC)

SuggestBot predicts that you will enjoy editing some of these articles. Have fun!
SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians. It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. Your contributions make Wikipedia better -- thanks for helping.
If you have feedback on how to make SuggestBot better, please tell me on SuggestBot's talk page. Thanks from ForteTuba, SuggestBot's caretaker.
P.S. You received these suggestions because your name was listed on the SuggestBot request page. If this was in error, sorry about the confusion. -- SuggestBot 01:02, 11 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Pretender
Please do not mark my changes as vandalism. Vandalism warrants a warning. If you want to place a warning on my page ,it will not stand up, for reasons I will state: 1) Braganza is the most common English form of Brangança 2) There is not need to state that the Orleanist heir has minor Legitimist support with the Legitimist heir holding major Legitimist support. Why not do the same for Orleanist support then? Point being said, it was removed because it is unnecessary. The affiliated support name is in parentheses after each claimant. Charles 19:46, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
- If you said I was guilty of vandalism for page blanking, note this:
-
- Attention Firefox and Google Toolbar users: You may find that long pages are cut off unexpectedly while editing in tabs; please be careful. This issue has been reported to Google, and we hope they will fix it.
- I use Firefox. Charles 19:50, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
As I said in the edit summary, the rv was for page-blanking. I expect this problem won't occur again as the lesson about watching for the removal of the end of articles has been learnt. I am sorry if the accusation of vandalism upset you, but many times edit summaries say 'rv vandalism' with no-one questioning that that is ok to say in edit summaries, and I accept that you are not a vandal. I'll remember the Firefox and Google Toolbar problem for if I see something similar in the future. Kaid100 00:05, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
- Apology accepted, and I am sorry for my brash and unncessary spiel about Braganca/etc. Charles 00:15, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Re: East-West Schism # Reconciliation
"Despite Pope John Paul II didn't participate as officiant, but only assisted to the Orthodox liturgy officiated by the Romanian Patriarch, the Greek monks in Mount Athos refused to admit Romanian priests and hieromonks as co-officiants to their liturgies for a few years afterwards"
In Orthodox and Catholic Churches the liturgy (like other sacraments) is officiated by a person (or more) who has the right to do it (this is the priest and only the priest). The rest (the people) assist to the religious service and pray. The Pope didn't co-officiate the Orthodox liturgy. He was only "a guest", he assisted like all the people gathered there. But the monks in Athos thought it was too much for they to accept: a Pope, Vicarius Dei, excommunicated etc. present at that Orthodox liturgy. So, as a response, they no more officiated the liturgy with Romanian priests.
A Catholic priest officiating a liturgy together with an Orthodox priest would imply mutual recognition of the sacraments. But it didn't happen.
I think it's important to show the reaction of monks in Athos, Athos playing a main role in the Orthodox world.
I hope it's clearer now. You are free to change the text to a more fluent English -- Regards. Adriatikus 16:18, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
Thanks Adriatikus, I've now made the change Kaid100 17:37, 28 June 2006 (UTC)

I noticed that you believed dreamfoiling was a hoax. This was almost exactly what I thought when I first heard of it from one of my college going psychology majors, but that turned out to be incorrect when he shoed me the experimental logs and we tried the thing out for ourselves. So no, not a hoax, just very, very cool. Is your method of finding out whether or not something is a hoax reliable or accepted by Wikipedia?

[edit] Stub sorting
Hello Kaid100,
I noticed you marked an article as a stub using the {{stub}} template. Did you know that there are thousands of stub types that you can use to clarify what type of stub the article is? Properly categorizing stubs is important to the Wikipedia community because it helps various WikiProjects to identify articles that need expansion.
You can view the full list of stub types at WP:STUBS.
If you have questions about stub sorting, don't hesitate to ask! There is a wealth of stub information on the stub sorting WikiProject, and hundreds of stub sorters. Thanks! Kannie | talk 02:26, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
