Sorry about that, stubs won't be deleted if they're accidentally not marked as stubs, but there wasn't any context to "Named after Cornelius S. Hurlbut, Jr. (1906-2005)." What was named after him? A fruit? A building? A mineral? It fit Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion. A good solution, I find, is to keep external links saved in your userpage or a subpage before the article is created, if you've found the links but don't have time at the moment to write the article.
