Thanks for visiting me, Kaiser (Wilhelm von) Shatner! I've been around since 2004. I tend to disagree with my liberal friends and colleagues on political matters, but I believe very strongly that the objective facts about all views should be portrayed here as neutrally as possible.

"The great ideas of the West—rationalism, self-criticism, the disinterested search for truth, the separation of church and state, the rule of law and equality under the law, freedom of thought and expression, human rights, and liberal democracy—are superior to any others devised by humankind. It was the West that took steps to abolish slavery; the calls for abolition did not resonate even in Africa, where rival tribes sold black prisoners into slavery. The West has secured freedoms for women and racial and other minorities to an extent unimaginable 60 years ago. The West recognizes and defends the rights of the individual: we are free to think what we want, to read what we want, to practice our religion, to live lives of our choosing." Some of my best stuff:
Gettysburg Address a Featured article that was Today's Featured Article on February 12, 2006, Abraham Lincoln's 197th birthday.
The Protocols of the Elders of Zion. So important to have the facts out about this. It was also TFA on March 19, 2006.
United States Bill of Rights. TFA on January 24, 2007.
Starship Troopers, by Robert A. Heinlein. TFA on May 1, 2006!
Henry Fonda the Biography collaboration of the "week", was the first article I helped make into a WP:FA, but it was recently defeatured. I guess we've come a long way since then?
Other articles:
- Union Blockade (new)
- Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum (new)
- Battle of Nassau (new)
- Gleaves class destroyer (added all of the DANFS info)
- Tet Offensive
- Battle of Valcour Island
- Neoconservatism
- American Conservatism
- Killian documents. Don't go there. Seriously.
I got curious so I googled that "world view" quiz. This sounds about right: You scored as Existentialist. Existentialism emphasizes human capability. There is no greater power interfering with life and thus it is up to us to make things happen. Sometimes considered a negative and depressing world view, your optimism towards human accomplishment is immense. Mankind is condemned to be free and must accept the responsibility.
