[edit] A few pointers
Thanks for your edits, especially to figure of the Earth. Just wanted to point out that predictable formatting is done by using style sheets. In particular, don't use <u> to underline section headings (in fact, explicit underlining is not used at all on Wikipedia). If you want underlined headings, you can create a custom style sheet that will do that (and more). Also, the <font> tag should basically never be used (there are some exceptions, but they are usually wrapped in templates and hidden from editors), and the <br> should be used only sparingly (don't use it for paragraph breaks, for example). Some of these issues are discussed in the Wikipedia Manual of Style, and some follow from the general principle of keeping explicit formatting minimal and relegating it to style sheets. There also exist templates for local styling commands, for example {{prettytable}}, which I've just added to the figure of the Earth article. Cheers, --MarkSweep✍ 22:19, 15 October 2005 (UTC)
