[edit] trope relations

So, ah, anyone got any commentary relating this to the western Gentleman thief trope, like the stories of Raffles, Lupin, and The Saint? Ought to be easy, given Lupin the Third is this Lupin's supposed grandson. —Quasirandom (talk) 16:59, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

The Japanese article cites Arsène Lupin (a gentleman thief) and Catwoman (a cat burglar) as examples of phantom thieves, so it seems the three character types are closely related.--Nohansen (talk) 00:13, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] References

The problem with the article's assertions is that they are not supported by references at present. If prod is not an option, then let's have some good references before time is wasted at Afd. Does that make sense? --Stormbay (talk) 03:02, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
