[edit] Gozaburo Kaiba
Gozaburo Kaiba (海馬 剛三郎 Kaiba Gōzaburō?) is a rich, powerful business man who is the adoptive father of Mokuba Kaiba and Seto Kaiba. In the second series anime, he is also the biological father of Noah Kaiba. Gozaburo is the original founder and CEO of the eponymous Kaiba Corporation, which initially began as a successful arms manufacturer. Gozaburo is also a world famous chess champion.
When Gozaburo visits the orphanage where Mokuba and Seto were living, Seto challenges him to a game of chess, telling Gozaburo that if he refuses, he will spread bad publicity about him. Seto says that if he wins, Gozaburo will have to adopt him and his brother. Gozaburo agrees to these terms. Although the details differ in the anime and manga, in the end Seto wins and Gozaburo is forced to fulfil his end of the bargain. However, he is a cruel father to Seto, forcing him to spend all his time studying. At this point his biological son Noah dies as well, leaving him without his intended heir to the company.
Gozaburo thus pushes Seto to become the new heir, and gives him 2% of Kaiba Corp stock as part of a test. In order to become the heir, Seto would have to pay back ten times the current stock price to him within a year: if he fails or refuses to do so, he and Mokuba will be sent back to the orphanage. Seto accepts the deal and makes the money he needs in a single day. Years later, Seto, along with the board of directors (also known as the Big Five), begin to buy 51% of the company. Gozaburo owns 49%, and Mokuba Kaiba has been entrusted with Seto's 2%, and Gozaburo is thus confident that Mokuba, who has become estranged with Seto, will give him his stocks and ensure Gozaburo remains the majority stockholder. Gozaburo thus allows Seto to accumulate 49% of the company to give him false hope for victory, but to his horror, Mokuba sides with his brother. Using his power as majority stockholder, Seto votes himself in as the new CEO of the company. Gozaburo disappeared afterwards, while in the manga, he is seen to have jumped out the window right after Seto became CEO.
In the anime, it is later revealed that Gozaburo instead digitized his mind like he did his son's, and hid inside the Kaiba Corp computer banks. When Noah's plan to defeat Yugi and his friends inside the virtual world fails, Gozaburo reveals himself as the mastermind of the capture, and unveils his plan to digitize mankind, and reign as the king of the Virtual World (this is in the English anime: the Japanese Gozaburo plans to use missiles to destroy the world). While Yugi and others try to escape, Seto and Gozaburo fight a duel, with Gozaburo intending to use Seto's body to escape to the real world and take over Kaiba Corp again. Despite Gozaburo using the powerful Exodia Necross, a ghostly version of Exodia the Forbidden One, he loses the duel. With the fortress about to be destroyed, Gozaburo attempts to take Kaiba's body by force by transforming into a digital monster. With the assistance of Yugi and a reformed Noah, Kaiba escapes the virtual world while Noah distracts Gozaburo. In the subsequent explosion orchestrated by Noah, the submarine the software is situated on is destroyed and Gozaburo and Noah are also destroyed.
Although this is Gozaburo's first and final appearance in person, he appears in flashbacks before and after the Virtual World story arc. Kaiba's goal to defeat Yugi at Alcatraz (Kaiba Corp Island) is not only a mission to defeat Yugi, but to overcome Gozaburo's legacy and put it behind him. Kaiba feels when he is crowned Duel King atop the Duel Tower, amidst the rubble of the military factories Gozaburo had built there, that only then can he forget his past and step out of Gozaburo's shadow. Alister of Dartz' group also harbors a grudge towards Kaiba, believing that Gozaburo funded a military attack on his town (he later realizes that the attack was instead ordered by Dartz, disguised as Gozaburo.) Finally, in the Grand Championship arc, Gozaburo Kaiba makes a brief appearance in two flashbacks concerning a party where he and the Schroeder family discuss business, accompanied by Seto and Zigfried von Schroeder heir to the Schroeder family. Mr. Schroeders tells him about a deal he is about to make in Europe, a deal which has already been made by Gozaburo, much to young Zigfried's dismay.
In the Japanese versions, Gozaburo is voiced by Unsho Ishizuka in the first series and by Tetsuo Komura in the second series. In the American English dub of the second series, he is voiced by David Willis.

Mokuba Kaiba (海馬 モクバ Kaiba Mokuba?) is Seto Kaiba's younger brother.
In the manga, Mokuba is characterized as a spoiled brat, always trying to trick Yugi Mutou to get back at him for defeating his older brother. In the first series of the manga Mokuba tries to defeat Yugi before Kaiba has a chance and challenges Katsuya Jonouchi and Yugi to a Roulette of Death and poisons Jonouchi. Yugi eventually wins and saves Jonouchi. Mokuba is another good game player who specializes in video games and Capsule Monster Chess ("Capmon"), but is not as good of a gamer as his brother. He is so committed to avenging his brother's humiliation that he someimes resorts to extreme measures, such as having his friends brandish a Uzi, a knife, and a stun gun in one manga chapter to coerce Yugi to play "Capmon" with him. In the second series of the anime, Mokuba is eternally devoted to his brother Seto Kaiba and is constantly by his side. He is not as violent as his manga counterpart, and is not committed to avenge Seto's defeat.
In the anime, at a young age, Mokuba and Seto are orphaned (their actual surnames unknown). Seto's mother dies when Mokuba is born, and their father dies in an accident when Seto is eight. Their relatives use up their inheritance and leave them at the orphanage. When the head of Kaiba Corporation, Gozaburo Kaiba, arrives at the orphanage to perform a publicity stunt, Seto sees the chance to challenge him to a game of chess, with Gozaburo forced to adopt Seto and Mokuba should he win. Mokuba was five at the time, while Seto is ten in the manga and Japanese anime, and twelve in the English anime. Seto wins, and Gozaburo is forced to adopt them. Mokuba plays a vital role in Seto's later bid to take over the company, possessing the vital 2% of the company that Seto uses to vote Gozaburo out of power.
In the second series anime, Mokuba is entrusted with Kaiba Corp when Seto goes away on a journey, and is kidnapped by Pegasus as part of a plot to take over the company. Mokuba escapes and briefly attempts to sabotage Yugi's efforts to confront Pegasus in revenge before being recaptured. He is eventually rescued when Yugi defeats Pegasus. Mokuba spends Battle City and the KC Grand Championship as an enforcer of security and rules while Seto is otherwise busy. In the third season, he is kidnapped by Noah, who brainwashes him to hate Seto, and later captures his body for his own uses.
In the second series Yu-Gi-Oh! anime (Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters), Mokuba becomes Yugi's friend, much to his Seto's displeasure. During the Battle City arc, Mokuba was willing to help Yugi rescue his friends when Marik was controlling them, while Seto only helped because Anzu saved Mokuba earlier. In addition, Mokuba also befriends and creates a brotherly bond with his stepbrother Noah Kaiba.
[edit] Noah Kaiba
Noah Kaiba (海馬 乃亜 Kaiba Noa?) is the biological son of Gozaburo Kaiba. His role is exclusive to the second series of Yu-Gi-Oh!, specifically of the Virtual World story arc.
As the heir to Kaiba Corporation, Noah's father makes him study heavily in the arts and academic subjects, but unlike Seto Kaiba, Noah enjoys it and is eager to please his father. When Noah is approximately ten years old, he is in a car accident and is fatally injured. In the hope of saving his son, Gozaburo Kaiba uploads Noah's mind onto a super computer just before Seto is adopted.
Gozaburo adopts Seto with the intent of using his body as a replacement for Noah, but eventually Gozaburo realizes Noah's intellectual growth has stagnated, and thus decides to make Seto his heir. When Seto took over Kaiba Corporation, Gozaburo, in frustration and defeat, uploads his own mind into Noah's virtual world. Six years later, Noah takes his revenge on Seto. He kidnaps Seto and his passengers on Seto's Kaiba Craft III during the semi-finals of Battle City, hoping to take one of the passenger's bodies, preferably Seto's. With the help of the Big Five and his father, Noah locks Seto and the others in his virtual world and duels with them for their bodies.
However, after the Big Five falter too many times, Noah eliminates them and takes on Seto himself by dueling him. However, this plan backfires when Seto gains the upper hand, and Noah thus uses Mokuba, who he has brainwashed, as a human shield to block Seto's attack. When Noah finally wins, an outraged Yami Yugi takes over for Seto and combines their decks to defeat Noah. With Gozaburo's role in the events revealed, Noah scatters the group to the parts of a virtual city and takes Mokuba's body for himself. Noah leaves the virtual world and attempts to blow up the computer mainframe with everyone else's minds connected to it, killing them all. At the very last minute, Noah remembers how Mokuba had called him brother and still loved him even after he tried to kill him and Seto. He redeems himself by reversing the plan, giving Mokuba back his body, getting everyone out of the virtual world to safety, and saving them from being blown up. However, he is unable to stop the explosion from occurring, and Noah's and Gozaburo's minds are destroyed.
He is voiced by Chisa Yokoyama in the Japanese version. He is voiced by Andrew Rannells in the American English dub.
