Kahataniya (Arabic,القحطانية) or Gıruzer (Kurdish, also spelled Giruzer, Kar Izir) is a northern Iraqi town about 100 km (62 miles) from Mosul. It was one of two villages targeted in the 2007 Qahtaniya bombings against the local Yazidi community, an ancient pre-Islamic sect.
