Kahal Zur Israel Synagogue
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Kahal Zur Israel is the name of a synagogue in Recife (capital of the state of Pernambuco, Brazil). It is the oldest synagogue in the Americas[1], dating back to the 17th Century, and serves the local Jewish community which first arrived in Brazil in 1500[2].
After being closed for many years it is now re-opened to Jews and their culture.
