Kaghaznagar or Kagaznagar is a town, a Mandal and a municipality in Adilabad district in the state of Andhra Pradesh in India.[1]

Kaghaznagar is located at [2] It has an average elevation of 174 meters (574 feet). This town is also known as Sirpur-Kaghaznagar.

As of 2001 India census[3], Kaghaznagar had a population of 59,549. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Kaghaznagar has an average literacy rate of 69%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 78%, and female literacy is 61%. In Kaghaznagar, 11% of the population is under 6 years of age.
History: Kaghanagar named after Paper Mills, initially it was called Kothapeta (new village). The Sirpur Paper Mills Limited (SPM) an integrated pulp and paper mill is one of the earliest mill in the country situated at Sirpur-Kaghaznagar in the district of Adilabad, Andhra Pradesh, commenced production in the year 1942.
Geographic locations: The nearest important city in north is Nagpur and Hyderabad is in south. It is situated on the main route of Chennai – Delhi. It is connected with National Highway No.7. From Hyderabad it will take 5 Hours by rail (Distance 300 km approx.), which passes through Kazipet, Ramagundam, Mancherial and Bellampalli.
By Road from Hyderabad (Distance 325 km approx.) it will take 6 Hours run via Siddipet, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Godavari Khani, Mancherial, Bellampalli, Rebbena. After travel of 3 km from Rebbena a right turn is to be taken to reach Sirpur Kaghaznagar. (12 km)
From Nagpur by rail (Distance 285 km approx.) it will take 5-6 Hours which passes through Wardha, Chandrapur, Ballarasha.
By Road from Nagpur (Distance 295 km approx.) it will take about 7-8 Hours via Jam, Chandrapur, Ballarasha, Rajura Asifabad. After travel of 20 km from Asifabad a left turn is to be taken to reach Sirpur Kaghaznagar (12 km).

Moor Jadi Beedi is very famous in Kaghaznagar and sorrounding areas belongs Khaja Badi uddin and sons Khaja Nizamuddin, Khaja Rafiuddin, Khaja Zameeruddin, Khaja Hassanuddin and Khaja Ahmedmohiuddin.
Kaghaznagar is the last municipality in the Andrapradesh while going from Hyderabad to NewDelhi via train.It is 820 KM(approximatly) from Chennai.The ruling party is Congress as of now(i.e 02-05-2008).Thirandhazbasthi,nowgambasthi,sirsilk colony,Indira market,petrol pump,dadanagar, Sardar basthi, Vijay basthi are the areas in the Kaghaznagar.Chinthaguda,kosini,Burdagudem,Easgaon are the surrounding villages. Easgaon is basically a bengali community and comprises of 13 villages.
