[edit] River and coastline measurement comparisons
I made a change here because the article in the Dimensions section seemed to imply that the Encyclopdia Britannica made a large error in calculating river length -- a statement likely to confuse readers who do not understand that sampling using different techniques produces different results -- all of which may be correct in their own frame of reference. The Britannica article says that it is the "course" of the river which runs 960 km. It's useful to note that the river has an unusual number of meanders, however saying that a "boat trip" would be 2000 km isn't unambiguous, either. For example, a boat with a shallower keel would have a shorter trip. If what the writer was saying is that a regularly scheduled boat service traverses 2000 km, it would be appropriate to say exactly that. Alpha Ralpha Boulevard 13:22, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
