Kadru

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In the mythology of India, Kadru (Kadrū in IAST notation, Devanagari: कद्रू), is usually the daughter of Daksha, wife of Kashyapa, and the mother of the Nagas. This is according to the Mahabharata (Adi Parva).

In some accounts, derived from the Ramayana, she is however the daughter of Kasyapa and Krodhavaśā, who is another daughter of Daksha. Thus she may alternatively considered to be the granddaughter of Daksha.
