Kadavathur is a small village near Thalassery, situated in Kannur district of Kerala state, south India.
[edit] About the name
"Kadavu" in Malayalam means the bank of a river where there is no bridge and people use country boat to cross the river. Kadavathur is surrounded on three sides by the Mahe river. Long ago there was no bridges and Kadavathur was encircled by three "kadavu". "Thur" means place and hence the name Kadavathur. There was tile factory over here. So older generation call Kadavathur as 'Company'. Now there are three bridges to connect Kadavathur.
There is a Kadavu called Kallacheri Kadav. This Kadavu is used by people to go to Iringannur.
