Kaci Deanne Brown (born July 7, 1988) is an American pop/R&B singer.
Brown was born in Sulphur Springs, Texas to James Michael Brown, Jr. and Annette Marie Thomas. Before attaining a record contract, at the age of 13, Brown signed her first publishing contract with Still Working Music, the company owned and run by Roy Orbison's widow, Barbara.
In 2005, she released her first single, "Unbelievable". Its video hit #18 on an MTV TRL Top 20 special and the song reached #1 at Radio Disney. Brown's debut album Instigator was released on August 9, 2005. She made appearances on Jimmy Kimmel Live, MTV and ABC to promote the LP. Produced by Toby Gad and Brown (as well as writing 10 of the 11 songs), the album entered Billboard magazine's Top Heatseekers chart at #13.
By the end of 2005, she had summer touring dates with the Backstreet Boys.
In January 2006, months after being released, "Unbelievable" entered Billboard's Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart at #49. A few weeks later, the song was already in the Top 30. The song was also featured prominently on soap opera Guiding Light for several weeks as part of the Tammy/Jonathan storyline.
On January 2006, Brown also took part on the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus. She gave some performances and tips to the children on how to write a good song.
On May 9, 2006 the second single, "Instigator", was released. The song features 2 unknown rappers, VA Slim and El Fudge. The single reached at #80 on "Mediabase", #9 on the "Hot Dance Music/Club Play" and #13 on the "Hot Dance Single Sales".
In December 2006, Aaron Carter announced he and Brown are dating.[1] They have since separated. Brown had also previously dated Backstreet Boy member AJ McLean.
Brown is currently in the studio writing new songs and collaborating with some producers and other writers for her second album, due in the first quarter of 2008.
Brown also made a show called The Kaci Brown Show. There are five episodes about her touring and her being with her family, with interviews and new experiences.
